Phase Two: How to call me
If you want to call me and have me be able to read what you are saying, here's what you do. Call 711 and wait for the operator. He or She will identify themself and then ask who you would like to call. Say,"VCO-user at 310-xxx-xxxx(my number)." They will ask you if you have used the systen before and answer accordingly. They will ask you to wait while they get me on the line. I will stat talking and when I say "Go Ahead" it is your turn to talk. Look forward to "reading" you soon.
Phase one:receiving a call from me
I have a new phone system called VCO. when I call you, I will first call an operator that will type what you say to me. So when I call you the operator will say<"I am so-and-so from blah-biddy-blah and I have a call from a VCO-user. Assume its me unless you have other hearing imparied friends or family. I will talk to you and when I say,"go ahead" then you start talking." when you are finished with each sentence or two you should say "go ahead" so the operator will know when to stop typing. when she or he types "GA" I will know to start speaking again. This takes a little time to learn and a little patience because of the delays. I have tried it with martha and sue and it works pretty good. I hope you will try it with me.

Very Cute Octagenarian
I am now a VCO user. no. . .it doesn't mean very cute octagenarian. It means that now when you call me on the phone, I can talk to you and then I will be able to READ your responses. I will be using a relay system that we all will have to get used to. But I think that it will be great! I will be able to SEE your words. I will let you know soon how to use it.
